Greetings fashionistas and motor heads, Mike Spock signing in!
As the spawn of two hobbyist photographers, I have had film cameras in my hand from an early age. At pubescence a 2 megapixel hand held coaxed me into composure, one of the first Nikon D70′s and its color issues combined with a thousands of hours in Photoshop have forged an eye for color and contrast, while my imagination guides me to turn a photograph into artwork. A samurai sword is forged with only the best materials through time and experience, and I approach my work with that mindset. Start with a vision, capture the moment in the best possible manner, and refine in the ‘Shop. I would be ashamed to enter battle with subpar “weaponry” which does not seem the be case for most “photographers” these days.
I have been swimming in automobilia for around a decade now. Years of detailing experience followed by selling car parts with many media adventures and project cars in-between. My pursuit of automotive media has been put on the back burner for the past year due to adult responsibilities as well as a crowded market I have not had time to stay afloat in. Well, the flame inside has been growing and I am excited to wield cameras again, especially for my friend James Cale.
James approached me to shoot his Touging in Tokyo line and we immediately clicked due to our obsession for perfection. I admire a man with a dream who follows through and DETO is a proud testament to his passion. I look forward to future projects as we both pursue a higher standard amidst a sea of competition and repetition; DETO will surely live long and prosper. See what I did there?

Brabus

Along my travels when I was in Cali last month, I made a stop to the infamous Mercedes-Benz tuner, Brabus.
Brabus is the upper echelon professional tuning and customization for Mercedes-Benz. Brabus USA also caters to Porsche and Land Rover as well. Customers can either buy cars straight from Brabus or send in their Mercedes to be customized and/or overhauled. If a customer orders a car from Brabus, Brabus buys the particular car from Mercedes and then modifies it in-house according to the customer’s requests.

Brabus the name, doesn’t actually mean anything in German. Brabus is the first three letters of the two innovative gentleman’s last names that started the company back in 1977: Bodo Buschmann and Klaus Brackmann.
