Picture Perfect

So we decided to purchase a lomography camera.  The LC-A to be exact.  This is a fully analogue camera.  We are talking manual focus and REAL film.  If you remember back a year ago at this time, i just bought my Cannon Rebel.  Here is the first post i did with that camera.  I’ve had a good year to learn a lot about photography and am still learning everyday.   There is just something about using real film that can capture a certain feel that digital can’t.

Below are the two side by side…i had to take this shot with my iphone since i was taking a picture of the only cameras i have.We went to the Lomography store in NYC to pick up our new addition.  Below is what’s entailed with your purchase(minus the three rolls of additional film).

This thick wooden box is holding alot more inside then it leads you to believe, but the weight of it gives you a clue.

I just love how they packaged these complementary rolls of film.  Talk about branding and details, it’s all right here!So all in all, this is what you get with you new LC-A camera.  The thick book inside gives you incite on what is possible with this little, light weight, toy-like, plastic camera….So wish me luck on this new venture to bring you the passion of racing through the eye of an analog camera…stay tuned.

BLVCK SCVLE NYC

This past weekend I had to pay a visit to Black Scale’s new store in New York.  If you’re familiar with SSUR, then you already know where this store is located.  Black Scale now occupy that spot, but still carry SSUR.

Black Scale is still a newer brand, so I find it very impressive to be on their second store already.  Not only a second store, but putting their second store on the other side of the country, in L.E.S., N.Y.C.  If you remember back to our “Straight West Coast’n” post, we visited their flagship store in the beautiful Union Square of San Francisco, which is an amazing location.

From left to right: Mega, Rob and Curtains.

If you live in Gotham City or in the surrounding area, do yourself a favor and check these guys out.

This is a strong brand with a solid vision.  Here’s a preview of the heat they’ll be dropping in the coming weeks            (i absolutely love both of these pieces):

Wicked

Enter Wicked Powder Coating:  A start up company that was founded by Mike Brattelli.  Mike’s inspiration for starting his company is similar to our philosophy.  The CBR that you see below started out stock and unmodified, then an unforeseen accident put Mike in the hospital and totaled his bike.  Being the fighter that Mike is, he dusted himself off and rebuilt his bike to be even better then before.

The Wicked shop is small, but has all the essentials to make your modified dreams come true.

After speaking with Mike, you can see his passion reflected in his craftsmanship.
