BLVCK SCVLE NYC

This past weekend I had to pay a visit to Black Scale’s new store in New York.  If you’re familiar with SSUR, then you already know where this store is located.  Black Scale now occupy that spot, but still carry SSUR.

Black Scale is still a newer brand, so I find it very impressive to be on their second store already.  Not only a second store, but putting their second store on the other side of the country, in L.E.S., N.Y.C.  If you remember back to our “Straight West Coast’n” post, we visited their flagship store in the beautiful Union Square of San Francisco, which is an amazing location.

From left to right: Mega, Rob and Curtains.

If you live in Gotham City or in the surrounding area, do yourself a favor and check these guys out.

This is a strong brand with a solid vision.  Here’s a preview of the heat they’ll be dropping in the coming weeks            (i absolutely love both of these pieces):

Mega of Black Scale.  In my “Straight West Coast’n” post, I showed you their flagship store in San Francisco.  I came to learn Mega is the proud owner of an R32 Skyline.  He explained the pros and cons of driving a RHD car.

I thought I’d share some pics from my trip to San Fran.  Enjoy…

Here is a pic from our plane ride in.

Any time I travel to somewhere that I haven’t been before, I always take notice on the fashion and car culture that an area has.  San Fran easily has both without over-doing itself. Here are a few random snaps I took just on the street.

This one threw me off for a sec.  I can honestly say that I’ve never seen this swap done before, and I’ve seen alot.

Here are some examples of some clean vintage cars just parked on the street.  Where I’m from, these types of cars are either tucked away in a garage till summer or neglected beyond recognition.

Super clean Z on the street…

I apologize for this one, I was messing with a wide lens for the first time and my auto-focus was off.

While I was in San Francisco, I wanted to visit many of the designers and boutiques I had only seen on blogs.  My first stop was at Black Scale, located right in Union Square.

IMG_7697

Black Scale is an independent clothing line just like DETO, so I had to stop by and check out their new location.

Once inside, we were greeted by Rubin.  He was super cool and was a major help in me navigating my way around town.  If you’re in the area def check them out.

My next stop was Fatlace, but ran into the Ferrari store along the way…

This is as far as I got, till they told me no pictures could be taken in the store :(

IMG_7700

Ok, so I finally arrived at Fatlace, located right in Japan town.

IMG_7627

The store had a very clean look with a good use of space, considering they had 2 motorcycles on display…

I ordered my usual, the Philadelphia Roll.  It looked like a caterpillar.  It was so pretty, i didn’t want to touch it.

IMG_7739

Ok, that didn’t last very long.  After the first bite, I wanted to eat the plastic grass too…

Here’s a view from the balcony of our room.

My last stop was at Acutech, an authorized dealer for Spoon Sports.

Niki Tam is the owner of Acutech and he couldn’t have been more accommodating.
